Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic and student-centered educator to serve as a Middle School Math/Science Teacher. This position is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based instruction in mathematics and science while fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and curiosity. The ideal candidate will create a supportive classroom environment that meets the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of middle school learners. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver effective, standards-aligned lessons in mathematics and science Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and support differentiated learning Foster inquiry-based learning and hands-on experiences in science and real-world problem solving in math Assess student progress regularly and use data to inform instruction Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and grades Create a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and collaboration Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff regarding student progress and needs Collaborate with grade-level teams and interdisciplinary staff to support student success Integrate technology effectively to enhance instruction and learning Participate in professional development and continuous improvement efforts Support school initiatives, programs, and extracurricular activities as appropriate Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field Valid state teaching license/certification for middle school Math and/or Science Strong knowledge of middle school curriculum and instructional best practices Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues Effective classroom management skills Strong communication and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching middle school students Endorsements or certifications in both Math and Science Experience with differentiated instruction and intervention strategies Familiarity with instructional technology and digital learning tools Knowledge of social-emotional learning practices Physical Demands Ability to stand, walk, and move around the classroom for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally Ability to supervise students in a variety of settings, including classrooms, labs, and common areas Working Conditions School-based setting with daily interaction with students, staff, and families Fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and adaptability Exposure to typical classroom and laboratory materials and equipment Occasional evening or after-school responsibilities (e.g., conferences, events, extracurriculars) Apply Now
