Communicative Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in special education or appropriate degree K-12 Mild/Moderate Intervention Specialist License or ability to receive Supplemental Intervention Specialist licensure

Responsibilities:

Prepares IEP documentation Collects data from teachers, the transition coordinator (if applicable), parents, and students in order to draft IEPs Submits complete draft to Director of Special Education for review and submission to public school district Calls parents to inform them of upcoming meeting dates Collects IEP signatures prior to the meeting date Updates and distributes accommodation and IEP documents to classroom teachers and intervention specialists after the document is finalized Prepares ETR documentation Collects data from teachers, the transition coordinator (if applicable), parents, and students in order to draft individual ETR pages Submits complete draft to Director of Education for review and submission to public school district Collects ETR signatures prior to the meeting date Updates and distributes ETR documents to classroom teachers and intervention specialists after the document is finalized Implements transition services for students with disabilities Makes referrals as needed to outside providers for transition services Collaborates with self contained teachers to implement life/employment skill instruction. Facilitates career exploration opportunities as well as assists students in developing a profile to discern career interests through direct service or collaboration with teachers and/or guidance counselor Assists students in completing assessments and research necessary to make an informed career choice and develop a career pathway Make community connections to provide students with opportunities in job shadowing experiences. Collaborates with guidance counselor, classroom teachers, intervention specialists, Director of Special Education, and outside resources to ensure transition services are provided to students as identified in the IEP. In collaboration with intervention specialists, develop the transition plan to be included in the IEP. In collaboration with the student, complete the Senior Summary of Performance for each SPED student within 30 days prior to graduation. Attends IEP/ETR meetings for students in grades 7-12, collaborating with the Director of Special Education as needed. Collaborates with the Director of Special Education in reporting data to the Ohio Department of Education for the purpose of complying with Federal and State regulations.

Pay:

$35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
