Activities Director Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Community School District is accepting applications for the position of 9-12 Activities Director. This position provides leadership and oversight of all high school extracurricular programs, including athletics and activities. The Activities Director will work closely with administration, coaches, sponsors, students, and families to ensure a positive, compliant, and student-centered activities program. This is a part-time Activities Director position that will be combined with a teaching assignment based on district needs.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Provide leadership and supervision of all 9-12 extracurricular activities and athletic programs Ensure compliance with all Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union regulations, as well as district expectations Coordinate schedules, transportation, officials, and event management Support, supervise, and evaluate coaches and activity sponsors Promote strong communication with students, families, and community stakeholders Oversee activity budgets, equipment, and facilities usage Foster a culture of sportsmanship, participation, and student engagement

Qualifications:

Evaluator Approval (or ability to obtain) required Previous coaching and/or activities leadership experience preferred Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills

Contract Structure:

This position will be issued a separate Activities Director contract, not a coaching/extracurricular contract under Iowa Code 279.19A Any teaching assignment will be issued under a separate contract pursuant to Iowa Code 279.13 The position will be structured based on a percentage of time assigned to Activities Director duties and a percentage assigned to teaching responsibilities Additional teaching duties may be assigned based on district needs, with time allocations defined annually
