911 Dispatcher

Responsibilities:

• Receive and analyze incoming emergency and non-emergency calls
• Gather relevant information from callers to determine the nature and urgency of the situation
• Dispatch appropriate personnel or resources to the scene
• Monitor and track the status of ongoing incidents
• Maintain accurate records of all calls and dispatch activities
• Provide assistance and support to field personnel as needed
• Coordinate with other agencies or departments as required
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
• Rotating shift work required (days, evenings, nights, weekends)

Experience:

• Previous experience in a dispatching role preferred
• Familiarity with phone etiquette and effective communication techniques
• Knowledge of first aid procedures and medical terminology is a plus
• Proficiency in using GPS systems for accurate location tracking
• Understanding of law enforcement protocols and procedures
• Ability to transcribe information accurately and quickly
• Familiarity with various phone systems and technology used in dispatching operations
• Strong negotiation skills to handle high-pressure situations effectively Other requirements:
