TITLE :
Academic CoachPROFILE SOURCE

: $15•22/hourPRIMARY FUNCTION
Academic Coaches will work directly with the Director of Grant Management to provide members with individualized assistance to help them learn new concepts and complete assignments. Their duties will include preparing lessons, answering student questions, instructing members, and keeping notes of student progress. In addition, Academic Coaches will work collaboratively to meet the educational needs of members requiring homework help or skill review.KEY ROLES
(Essential Job Responsibilities): Leading one-on-one or small group lessons that cater to the needs and goals of members. Reviewing curriculum topics and assignments to better serve members. Assisting members with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research, and other academic tasks. Working with members to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom. Teaching skills to improve academic performance, including study strategies, note-taking skills, and approaches to answering questions and solving problems. Providing members with positive and constructive feedback as well as building self-confidence. Identifying areas of improvement and helping members to set goals to increase success long-term. Demonstrates academic competence in subject(s) areas and ability to develop lessons. Collaborate effectively with parents and the organization to increase academic performance of members.SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Education or subject-matter field preferred. At least two years of successful experience working with students, including lesson planning and teaching. Thorough knowledge and practical experience with working with curriculum. Patience and compassion for children as they develop skills and improve their performance. Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain challenging concepts, provide instruction, and deliver feedback. Ability to motivate and encourage students to improve their academic performance using effective goal-setting strategies. The essential functions of this position require the ability to safely ascend and descend stairs, with or without reasonable accommodation.DISCLAIMER
