JOB SUMMARY

Patrol area on foot and prevent and detect signs of intrusion. Maintain security and safety of visitors, employees and property.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Ensure security of doors and gates. Compare shipping documents and material certificates to the Purchase Order or the supply order requirements to assure compliance with material specification. Answer alarms and investigate disturbances. Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises. Write reports of daily activities. Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non business hours or when switchboard is closed. Warn persons of rule infractions or violations. Communicates with co-workers, supervisors and staff from other departments to solve problems, improve quality, processes and services. Thoroughly completes report of nightly rounds and other duties as needed.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Must be detailed oriented and have excellent literacy and writing, documentation, communications and interpersonal abilities. The position is considered semi-sedentary and limited physical requirements are necessary. The job requires standing, stooping, bending, pulling, pushing, grasping, walking, carrying and climbing. Requires infrequent lifting or carrying of objects up to 50 lbs.
