Job Description

We are offering a great opportunity for a part time Access Specialist for our Community and Crisis Department to work 4 days a week between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM providing rotating support at our Petersburg, Prince George, and Emporia locations. Responsibilities Serves as the front desk receptionist and point of contact for individuals seeking services of Same Day Access at our Bank Street location. Greeting new and existing consumers, determining reason for visit, identifying best plan of action for service initiation, fielding questions and concerns, completing initial paperwork, date entry into our electronic health records and completion of financial information. Additional responsibilities include verifying insurance coverage and preparing information for Same Day Access clinician and the consumer's home clinic. Coordinating and scheduling appointments for follow-up, facilitating and overseeing daily office needs, practices and procedures. Work with authorizations for services, some direct interactions with MCOs, financial and reimbursement services and other related assigned tasks. Required Education and Experience High school degree of general education diploma (GED). One (1) year position related experience in data entry and office administrative support. Valid Driver's License with a point balance of -6 or higher. Preferred Education and Experience Three (3) years position related experience in data entry and office administrative support. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and office equipment and technology in a medical or MH/SA setting; reimbursement policies, procedures, and regulations related to the supported activity; manual and automated filing systems; standard grammar, punctuation and usage. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communications Demonstrated professionalism and telephone etiquette. Ability to accurately and timely manage/order office equipment.
Abilities:
Keyboard proficiency; to apply computer applications involving data entry, data manipulation, verification and retrieval. Ability to maintain a reimbursement/fee collection system, transcription bookkeeping, and filing. Efficiently prioritize and organize work. Ability to make independent work processing decisions and to work on several concurrent tasks with frequent interruptions. Ability to provide excellent customer service and exhibit superb communication and interaction skills. Experience with computer skills in word processing, data entry, data manipulation and verification; filing systems, office practices, reimbursement policy and procedures; in MH/SA office environment. Ability to efficiently utilize our Electronic Health Records. Special Work Conditions of this position Ability to lift 35 pounds (ex: supplies for meetings, items needing to be delivered to the
SDA/MHOP
Suites, etc.). Work evenings when required to address board/agency functions. Travel throughout the commonwealth including overnight where applicable . May be required to travel within the Greater Reach CSB catchment area. Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry report will be required upon selection. Our Agency maintains a drug-free workplace. This position is funded through a grant. Continuation of employment is contingent upon the availability of grant funds. Should the funding end or be reduced, the position may be modified or eliminated in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.
