Job Description

Introduction The Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Office currently has an opening for an Accessibility Manager! We're a highly engaged, collaborative team of about 50 employees with an office located at the new Hill Farms State Office Building on Madison's near west side. The WTCS Office is the administrative service agency of the WTCS Board, which is the coordinating and oversight body for Wisconsin's 16 public, two-year technical colleges. This position offers the ability to work remotely nearly 100% of the time, however, the employee should be available to report to the office periodically as needed. Position Summary This position provides program expertise relating to accessibility to WTCS' internal staff and external partners. This position is responsible for research, analysis, and development of policies, procedures, and protocols related to accessibility at the system office. In addition, this position analyzes, develops and executes convenings and other professional development opportunities for up to 500 attendees, which includes managing all aspects of the event including budget, professional contracts, vendors, and technology coordination for in-person and virtual events. Salary Information The classification of this position is Program and Policy Analyst which is in pay schedule/range 07-04. The starting pay for this position will be between $30.00 - $33.00 per hour based on qualifications. This position is not represented by a collective bargaining unit. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan. Job Details WTCS does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the selected applicant being able to provide documentation of eligibility to work in the United States. A criminal background check will be performed on the selected applicant prior to an offer of employment. Possession of a valid driver's license including personal automobile insurance, or the ability to provide one's own transportation for work purposes, is required. Travel is required for up to 20% of this position's duties. Qualifications Minimally qualified candidates will have each of the following: Experience creating accessible documents, forms, files, presentations and/or websites by implementing font styles, alternative text, accessibility checker, etc. Experience with project management (developing and implementing programs, monitoring programs for progress, etc.) Experience with administrative support duties (organizing meetings, scheduling, creating reports, etc.) In addition, highly qualified candidates will have one or more of the following: Experience researching and analyzing laws, rules and/or regulations Experience identifying issues and following through with problem solving techniques Experience working with contracts or procurement It is critically important your application materials clearly describe your experience related to the stated criteria.
