We are looking to hire a talented Accounting Clerk to join our team. The Accounting Clerk is responsible for for all accounting tasks of the organization, as well as some human resources tasks. Responsibilities for Accounting Clerk Keeps books and accounting records of financial transactions for establishment. Reconciles and balances accounts. Verifies, allocates, and posts details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts in journals or computer files. Summarizes details in separate ledgers or computer files and transfers data to general ledger. Advises operating officials on accounting matters. Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position. Analyzes the effects of transactions upon account relationships. Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Audits contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement. Communicates regularly with subcontractors regarding payments, negations and invoices. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions. Compiles and maintains personnel records. Compute wages, record data, and process company-wide payroll. Cooperates with outside auditors in any undertaking that may expedite their work. Ensures the adequacy of the accounting system as the basis for reporting to management. Establish, modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures. Evaluates alternative means of treating transactions. Interprets the meaning of accounting records, reports, and statements. Lead and coordinate activities of administrative workers performing expense tracking tasks. Performs diversified clerical and administrative activities. Plans the manner in which account structures should be developed or modified. Plans, prepares, controls, monitors, and forecasts organization's direct and/or indirect budgets. Prepares and files withholding, Social Security, and other tax reports. Projects accounting data to show the effects of proposed plans on capital investments, income, cash position, and overall financial condition. Readies and maintains financial and business transactions, applying accounting principles that include work that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature and that requires an understanding of both accounting theory and practice. Recommends improvements, adaptations, or revisions in the accounting system and procedures. Utilize computer-based system for general accounting. Utilizes knowledge of the fundamental doctrines, theories, principles, and terminology of accountancy, and often entails some understanding of such related fields as business law, statistics, and general management. Compile and maintain records for use in employee benefits administration and be designated Benefits Clerk. Compiles and maintains personnel records. Compute wages, record data, and process company-wide payroll. Considers the need for new or changed controls. Enrolls new employees in programs. Maintains and distributes current employee information, policy and procedure manuals, and other communication. Makes files on all new personnel. Processes and records information, such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination date and reason. Records changes on all employee status as necessary; e.g., change of address, departmental transfers, rate increases, terminations, etc. Assist with other projects assigned by the Executive Director as required.
