Job Description:

Position Overview Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support day-to-day accounts payable activities and core accounting operations. This role is ideal for an experienced Staff Accountant who enjoys end-to-end ownership of payables, billing support, and general accounting responsibilities while working closely with leadership in a small, high-impact team environment.

Location:

Tysons Corner, Va- Hybrid - 3 days onsite per week (with flexibility to be onsite up to 5 days as needed) Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounts payable from invoice receipt through payment, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper approvals Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries Support customer billing activities, including invoice preparation and documentation Assist with expense reports, credit card reconciliations, and employee reimbursements Support month-end close processes, including AP accruals and account reconciliations Maintain organized financial documentation in compliance with company policies and government contracting requirements Assist with audits, reviews, and ad hoc accounting projects as needed Collaborate closely with the Controller and Senior Accountant to ensure continuity of operations Support additional accounting and operational tasks as needed Qualifications Experience in government contracting or professional services strongly preferred Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce strongly preferred Working knowledge of GAAP and core accounting principles Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, small-team environment Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills preferred
