The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for an Accountant I Auxiliary Services. The Auxiliary Services Accountant I supports the department by providing accounting services, including bookkeeping, invoicing, reporting, reconciliations, and AP/AR for each of the Auxiliary operating units as well as the department itself. This position requires critical thinking skills, research skills, and ability to analyze and understand financial data. Process and conduct all Auxiliary Services accounting duties, including but not limited to account reconciliations, journal entries, commissions analysis and reporting, department invoicing, and commensurate administrative support. Ensure that payments are received timely and correctly from various third party contractors. Run and Prepare various financial and data reports for all Auxiliary Services enterprises. Work with Auxiliary Services Financial Analyst to ensure that all accounting entries are handled in accordance with policies and are accurate. Reviews of financial transactions should include critical thinking and research skills to thoroughly understand the data. Assist in annual physical inventory counts for auxiliary departments, provide support to auxiliary for institution-wide events such as move-in, commencement, etc. Provide all accounting services for Military Supply Store. Produce ad hoc financial reports and analysis of financial data as needed. Process A/P billing, A/R - Foundation and Department billing, and reconcile inventory and sales on a daily basis. Review and approve daily cashier deposits. Assists with audits and USG System reporting by providing information as requested. Administrative support as required. Supports Real Estate Foundation with ad hoc reporting when needed. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, skilled in Excel spreadsheets. Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to communicate financial data clearly to decision makers. Works well under deadlines and can provide ad hoc data on a short timeline upon request. Ability to navigate financial software systems. Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines. Occasional Saturday and evening work required at peak times Bachelor's Degree required. One year of accounting experience in relevant bookkeeping areas of journal entries, invoicing, and reconciliations preferred. Accounting major preferred. Experience with PeopleSoft or Workday preferred. The proposed salary range is: $19.72-$21.69 hour.
