Job Description

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant that has the ability to work diligently to help maintain smooth office operations. You will undertake a variety of activities in the office including general office activities as well as purchasing, ordering and accounting duties. You must be reliable and hardworking with great communication skills. The ideal candidate will be familiar with accounts payable and receivable. Responsibilities Create and send purchase orders to trades and vendors Import jobs and change orders into a custom computer system Create and manage cost overruns and estimated cost adjustments Manage and code invoices including matching to purchase orders and researching discrepancies Enter invoices for payment Reconcile credit card statements Create and maintain vendor files Maintain vehicle registrations Print invoices Maintaining stock/inventory Utilize office equipment such as photocopier, printers etc. and computers Assist in office management and organization procedures Maintain files and records so they remain updated and easily accessible Perform other office duties as assigned Skills Ability to navigate multiple computer system windows, applications, and utilize search tools to find information Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) skills Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills Accounting knowledge necessary Construction knowledge preferred but not necessary This is a full time salaried position with a full benefit package available.
