Accounting Clerk Department/Location:
Accounting / Riverside Employee Reports to:
Treasurer FLSA:
Hourly; Non-Exempt position
Status:
Full-Time 76-80
Hours Rate of Pay:
Grade 16 / $21.93 - $32.25 an hour
Summary/Objective :
The Accounting Assistant reports to the Accounting Operations Lead for day to day tasks and to the Treasurer for all other tasks. They will be responsible for the processing of accounts payable batches, scanning, data input, processing wire transfers, reconciling accounts and various other tasks.
Essential Job Functions :
Process accounts payable batches. Responsible for wire transfer data entry, verification, and the release of wire transfers. Scan accounting department journal ensuring all documents are included and legible. Process journal entries into core system ensuring all documentation is included. Data input into various systems and spreadsheets. Filing of various documents. Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements. Learn and cross-train on how to perform AP/AR. Participates in ensuring that accounting practices are in conformance with regulatory and Timberland Bank policies. Maintaining schedules and reconciliations. Handle various administrative tasks such as making and answering phone calls and opening mail. Implement efficient accounting practices. Assemble and communicate requested information for audits, month-end, etc. Assist on other tasks assigned by supervisor
Requirements:
High school diploma or 1 year of professional work experience. Accounting work experience preferred but not required. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively with internal departments, staff and vendors. Effective written and verbal communication skills for a professional business environment. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to problem solve to resolution. Strong interpersonal skills. Attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills. Understanding of basic principles of Accounting.
