Job Description

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join a manufacturing organization in Ottawa Lake, Michigan on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent position. This role is well suited for someone who can support day-to-day accounting operations across payables, receivables, and payroll while maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate brings a solid understanding of core accounting principles and can confidently prepare entries, update ledgers, and help keep financial processes running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
  • Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and ensure payments are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Manage customer billing activities, record incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances as needed.
  • Support payroll administration by reviewing hours, assisting with payroll processing, and helping maintain accurate employee pay records.
  • Prepare and record journal entries, including adjustments, to keep financial data complete and up to date.
  • Post transactions to the general ledger and help maintain the accuracy of account balances.
  • Reconcile accounting records and investigate discrepancies to support reliable monthly financial reporting.
  • Assist with routine accounting workflows and provide organized documentation for audits, reviews, and internal reporting needs.
