ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Cement Products Inc. is an American owned and family operated business since 1916. From the foundation to the finishing touch, Cement Products Inc. is the preferred concrete products and ready-mix supplier from mid-Ohio to northern-Ohio.Job Summary Description:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of financial operations for Cement Products, Inc. This position reports directly to the company President. The Accounting Manager's responsibilities include the accurate and timely preparation and analyses of all facets of the financial operations of the company, including financial statement preparation, cash management, budget preparation and analyses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit, payroll, and all other fiscally related duties. With an Accounting Specialist as a direct report, handling payroll and accounts payable, the Accounting Manager will perform other administrative duties as required.Supervisory Responsibilities:
1. Provides leadership to the accounting staff/direct reports who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll and budget preparation. 2. Recruits and hires accounting staff and conducts timely performance appraisals. 3. Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to: 1. Has responsibility and authority to lead all aspects of accounting department (accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, general ledger entries, bank reconciliation, credit card expense report reconciliation, cash applications, collections and payroll). 2. Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions. 3. Presents recommendations to management on short and long-term financial policies. 4. Responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial processing - month end close, cash management reports, and balance sheet reconciliation; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards. 5. Oversees inventory from production to sale of product. Daily production entry, monthly inventory reconciliation and year-end physical inventory. 6. Responsible for cash management, including ACH creation & payments, and maintaining lines of credit. 7. Maintain professional banking relationships. 8. Processes new customer credit references and assign credit limits and terms. 9. Ensures compliance with local, state and federal government requirements. 10. Maintains files and ensures compliance with record retention requirements. 11. Assists CPA by preparing all paperwork in conjunction with filing annual corporate tax returns. 12. Is a liaison between Cement Products Inc. and P&C provider. 13. Is the primary contact between Cement Products Inc. and its outsourced IT provider. Coordinates purchases of computer equipment and repairs, helps to troubleshoot computer issues, etc. 14. Provides support for a variety of necessary company initiatives including, but not limited to, uniforms and uniform contracts, purchasing office supplies, including business cards, providing input on marketing brochures, apparel purchases and inventory, website, annual Christmas Party, and some HR-related activities such as timecard approval, Sage HR paystub updates, attends safety meetings, etc.Requirements/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/business administration preferred or relevant work experience.
- Strong leadership, management and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and reasoning abilities with superior numeric skills
- Possess well-developed interpersonal and communication, verbal and written skills.
- Must be result and profit-oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations and perform multifaceted projects.
- Must be highly motivated and have the ability to function independently and also multi-task.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and direct other employees; Resolve conflicts, problems and complaints.
- Expert level computer skills - proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with Sage 50 Desktop software a plus.
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Able to remain in a stationary, sitting position (70% of the time) at a desktop computer and be alert.
- Must be fluent (able to read, write and speak) in English to both inside and outside stakeholders.
- Must be able to move seamlessly from task to task and occasionally multi-task while remaining efficient, effective and even-keeled.
- Must be able to manage stress emanating from a customer or vendor and remain effective.
- Keeping confidential information confidential.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per yearBenefits:
