Jobs › Natick, MA › Accounting Manager Robert Half Accounting Manager Natick, MA Apply Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support financial operations for a long-term contract opportunity based in Metrowest, Massachusetts. This role will oversee core accounting functions, deliver timely and accurate reporting, and help maintain strong financial controls across the organization. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise in month-end activities, audit coordination, and financial systems, with the ability to strengthen processes and guide day-to-day accounting work.
Responsibilities:
- Direct daily accounting activities across payables, receivables, payroll, and the general ledger to ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, along with supporting reports that inform business and financial decisions.
- Manage month-end close tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and review of ledger activity.
- Oversee financial transactions and reporting within the Munis system while maintaining complete and reliable accounting records.
- Partner with external auditors during annual audit engagements by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and coordinating deliverables.
- Review accounting results and trends to develop financial analyses, forecasts, and management reports.
- Maintain compliance with applicable local, state, and federal financial requirements, policies, and reporting standards.
- Contribute to budget development and execution through effective use of the Munis Budget module.
- Provide guidance and training to team members on Munis functionality, reporting tools, and system updates.
- Recommend and implement improvements that increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and enhance accounting system performance. Requirements
- Proven experience managing accounting operations, including general ledger oversight, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Strong background preparing financial statements, month-end reports, and supporting audit activities.
- Hands-on experience with Tyler Technologies Munis, including transaction processing and reporting.
- Ability to prepare and review journal entries with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of financial regulations, accounting controls, and compliance requirements.
- Experience analyzing accounting data and translating findings into clear financial reporting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to support staff and coordinate across teams.
