Job Description

Accounting Manager$90-100k+Cambridge (free parking and also near the T)40 hours. Great work life. Never much OT at all. 9-5!!5 days on site to start. Once comfortable, chance for 1 day home.

Our client is looking for a small company, hands-on Accounting Manager to help oversee all accounting needs with multiple entities. You will report into a great CFO and work very closely with the company owner.

Mentor and manage a junior AP person too!
Responsibilities:
  • Direct day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities, ensuring records are complete, organized, and accurately maintained in QuickBooks.
  • Prepare internal financial reports for leadership, highlighting timely information that supports planning and business decisions.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and investigation of account variances.
  • Oversee cash management activities such as banking transactions, wires, and payment processing in alignment with organizational direction.
  • Partner with colleagues across departments to collect required financial data, resolve outstanding items, and keep records current.
  • Manage bi-weekly payroll processing from start to finish while maintaining confidentiality and adherence to applicable regulations.
  • Support administration of employee benefits, including payroll deductions, insurance updates, renewals, and related documentation.
  • Strengthen accounting workflows and internal controls while supervising, coaching, and developing accounting staff.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and tax professionals, providing documentation and assistance during reviews and filings.
  • Monitor regulatory and reporting obligations to help ensure ongoing business compliance across accounting operations.
