Accounting Specialist - 1st Shift Direct Hire |
Pay:
$32 - $34/hr., based upon experience
Job Summary:
Provenance Recruitment & Staffing is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to manage and maintain key financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards. The ideal candidate will be proficient in QuickBooks and skilled in handling accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll, financial reporting, and other accounting functions critical to business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR): Process invoices, payments, and collections. Monitor and reconcile customer and vendor accounts.
Bank Reconciliations:
Perform monthly/yearly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze profit and loss statements (P&L), balance sheets, and other financial reports. Assist management in understanding financial performance and trends.
Job Costing:
Track and allocate costs based on data from the Material Requirements System (MRS). Provide insights to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
Payroll and Taxes:
Process employee payroll accurately and on time. Ensure timely filing and payment of payroll taxes.
Inventory Tracking:
Conduct year-end inventory counts and reconciliations. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate inventory valuation.
Workers' Compensation Audits:
Gather and organize required documentation for annual workers' comp audits. Address audit inquiries and ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Strong knowledge of AP, AR, payroll, and financial reporting processes. Experience with bank reconciliations and job costing systems (MRS experience preferred). Familiarity with inventory tracking and year-end reconciliation processes. Understanding of workers' compensation audits and payroll tax regulations. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks effectively. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
