Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic finance team as an Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist and play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of our company's financial transactions. In this energetic position, you will manage the full cycle of accounts payable processes, utilize cutting-edge financial software, and uphold compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Your expertise will help streamline operations, support vendor relationships, and contribute to the overall financial health of our organization. This is an exciting opportunity for detail-oriented professionals passionate about accounting and financial management. Accounts Payable Receive, verify, and reconcile invoices. Perform invoice and general ledger data entry—using correct information from invoices, selecting appropriate GL accounts, and attaching invoices in the system. Collect and maintain vendor W-9 information in the accounting system. Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances. Ensure credits are received for outstanding memos. Generate purchase orders as needed. Track payment schedules and pay bills on time via check, online vendor accounts, and online banking. Issue stop payments as required. Manage cash flow and process fund transfers. Handle employee reimbursements. Communicate directly with clients regarding AP matters. Process 1099 reports at year-end. Produce AP-related reports and handle other ad hoc tasks for managers. Payroll Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll cycles accurately and on time. Review timesheets, compute earnings/deductions, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Maintain payroll records, employee data, and system updates. Respond to employee and client payroll inquiries, including tax forms and deductions. Handle off-cycle checks, bonuses, terminations, and adjustments. Reconcile payroll reports and work with accounting for accurate GL entries. Prepare and file quarterly/year-end payroll reports (W-2s, 1099s, etc.). Stay updated on tax laws, wage regulations, and compliance standards. Payroll onboarding Required Skills & Qualifications 2+ years of payroll processing experience (multi-state preferred). Strong knowledge of payroll laws & compliance (FLSA, state/local tax, garnishments). Proficiency in payroll software (ADP, Paychex, Gusto, QuickBooks Payroll, etc.). Fast and accurate typing skills. Strong Excel skills and data entry accuracy. Understanding of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping principles. Excellent time management and organizational skills. High attention to detail and confidentiality. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable learning new accounting systems and online platforms.
Pay:
