Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of accounting principles, and accounts payable processes, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. As an integral part of our finance operations, the Accounts Payable Specialist will ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, and payments. Duties Process, and verify vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment requests with precision and attention to detail. Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies promptly. Maintain accurate, organized records of all transactions through data entry and document management. Prepare journal entries related to accounts payable. Prepare and enter data for electronic payment processing (ACH, wire transfers) and checks. Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely disbursements. Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors inquiring about payments and account status. Collaborate with purchasing and receiving departments to resolve invoice disputes. Skills Knowledge of Sage accounting software preferred but not required. Understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, and general ledger accounting. Proficiency in data entry. Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation and transaction review. Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments including purchasing and finance teams. Microsoft Excel Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field preferred, but not required. 2-4 years of experience in accounts payable, billing or general accounting preferred.

Pay:

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
