Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. Responsibilities Process and verify all accounts payable transactions using various accounting software such as Workday, SAP, or QuickBooks, ensuring timely payments to vendors and suppliers Reconcile accounts payable ledger with general ledger accounts to maintain accuracy and identify discrepancies Prepare and review journal entries related to accounts payable activities, including accruals and adjustments Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls during all financial transactions Maintain detailed records of invoices, purchase orders, receipts, and payment documentation for audit readiness Collaborate with procurement, finance, and human resources teams to resolve invoice discrepancies or payment issues efficiently Assist with month-end closing processes by preparing reports on outstanding payables and aging analysis Skills Strong understanding of accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation Proficiency in accounting software including Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Sage, PeopleSoft or Ceridian is highly desirable Experience with data entry accuracy using 10 key typing skills and attention to detail in high-volume environments Knowledge of payroll management systems and benefits administration processes is a plus Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices enhances your effectiveness in this role Ability to analyze financial data critically and perform account reconciliations efficiently Excellent organizational skills combined with strong communication abilities to coordinate across departments Join us as an Accounts Payable Specialist to play a vital role in maintaining our company's financial health!
