Activities Assistant 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars Wenonah, NJ 08090 Part-time Twin Cedars 11 reviews Part-time Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Activities Assistant to join our team and help create a welcoming, engaging, and vibrant environment for our residents. In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and lead a variety of recreational and social activities designed to enhance residents' physical, emotional, and social well-being. Your enthusiasm and dedication will encourage meaningful interaction, promote independence, and help residents enjoy a fulfilling daily life. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of older adults through engaging programming and compassionate support. Responsibilities Plan and implement a variety of recreational, social, educational, and wellness activities for residents. Encourage resident participation in group and individual activities that promote socialization, creativity, and physical engagement. Coordinate special events, celebrations, outings, and entertainment programs tailored to residents' interests and abilities. Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including mobility, dressing, and personal support when needed. Work closely with nursing staff and caregivers to identify resident preferences, abilities, and safety needs. Maintain organized activity calendars and ensure programs run smoothly and on schedule. Foster a warm, inclusive, and respectful environment that encourages participation from residents of all abilities. Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members to support a strong sense of community. Maintain accurate records of activity participation and communicate observations or concerns appropriately. Qualifications & Skills Previous experience in senior care, assisted living, recreation programs, hospitality, or event planning preferred. Knowledge of long-term care and resident-centered care practices is a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage residents in a positive and respectful manner. Ability to assist residents with ADLs while encouraging independence and dignity. Experience supporting individuals with varying physical or cognitive abilities is highly desirable. Excellent organizational and time-management skills to coordinate multiple activities effectively. Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic personality with a genuine passion for enhancing the lives of seniors. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Why Join Us?
