This position involves planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of seniors, including those with memory care challenges. The Activity Assistant works closely with residents, staff, and families to create a supportive and stimulating atmosphere that promotes social interaction and emotional well-being. This is an every other weekend position with occasional weekdays to cover vacations. Duties Assist in the planning of special events, outings, and programs that encourage participation from all residents. Provide support to residents during activities, ensuring their safety and comfort. Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback on activities Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote a positive community environment. Monitor residents' engagement levels and adjust activities as necessary to ensure inclusivity. Skills Strong understanding of aging issues counseling and senior care principles. Experience in assisted living or long-term care settings is preferred. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with seniors and their families. Knowledge of memory care techniques and strategies for engaging individuals with dementia. Compassionate approach towards caregiving, demonstrating patience and empathy. This role is essential for fostering an enriching environment for seniors, making it imperative for candidates to possess both the skills and passion required to support this demographic effectively.
