Activities Director

Embassy of Saxonburg is currently hiring full time Activity Director to join our team of professionals! Embassy of Saxonburg offers a full continuum of care, from temporary respite care to long-term skilled nursing, to hospice services. We also provide exceptional short-term rehabilitation and a range of specialty programs and complex clinical services. Together with our compassionate, personalized approach, these capabilities have helped establish our long-standing reputation for total excellence in senior care: The Activity Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and implementing a comprehensive activities program that supports the physical, mental, emotional, and psychosocial well-being of residents in accordance with federal, state, and facility regulations. Key Responsibilities Develop and oversee resident activity programs and calendars Complete resident assessments and activity care plans Supervise and manage activity department staff Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and survey readiness Coordinate activities with nursing, social services, therapy, and administration Maintain departmental policies, budgets, supplies, and documentation Lead quality assurance and participate in facility committees Organize special events, outings, entertainment, hobbies, and therapeutic activities Support resident rights, engagement, and individualized programming Conduct staff training and ensure infection control/safety compliance Leadership Duties Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate activity staff Schedule department staffing and assignments Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings Maintain communication with residents, families, and healthcare professionals Address grievances and departmental concerns Qualifications Candidates must meet one of the following: Licensed or certified Activity Professional/Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Completed approved state activity training course Experience in social/recreational programming, including healthcare setting experience We believe our commitment to compassionate care; innovative solutions, patient focus programs and a reward-for results culture will enrich the lives of patients and employees alike.
