In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and oversee a variety of recreational activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, physical well-being, and overall quality of life. Your enthusiasm and creativity will inspire residents to participate actively in their daily lives, fostering a vibrant community atmosphere. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of seniors by providing tailored activities that meet diverse needs and interests. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive activity program aligned with residents' interests, abilities, and care plans, including specialized programs for memory care and dementia care. Coordinate engaging events such as arts and crafts, music therapy, outings, fitness classes, and social gatherings to promote social interaction and mental stimulation. Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, and family members to customize activities that support individual health goals and enhance overall well-being. Manage scheduling of activities to ensure consistent participation while accommodating residents' routines and preferences. Lead recreational therapy sessions that assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility exercises, and cognitive engagement for residents with disabilities or aging issues. Monitor resident participation and provide encouragement to foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and involved. Maintain detailed records of activity participation, resident feedback, and program effectiveness to continually improve offerings. Qualifications Proven experience in event planning within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care environments. Strong background in senior care, memory care, Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or recreational therapy. Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities and understanding of aging-related issues. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents, families, staff, and community partners. Experience assisting with ADLs (activities of daily living) such as grooming, dressing, or mobility support during activities. Ability to manage schedules efficiently while balancing multiple programs and resident needs. Background in social work or counseling related to aging issues is a plus.
