ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR
Job Title:
Activities Director Setting:
Long-Term Care /Nursing Home Pay Rate:
$18.00- $22.
Job Summary:
The Activities Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a comprehensive activities program that meets the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs of residents in a long-term care setting. This role ensures residents maintain the highest possible quality of life through meaningful engagement and individualized programming.Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a monthly activities calendar that includes group and individual programs. Assess residents' interests, abilities, and needs to create personalized activity plans. Coordinate recreational, social, cultural, and educational activities. Facilitate daily activities such as games, exercise classes, arts and crafts, music, and special events. Organize holiday celebrations, community outings, and special programs. Encourage resident participation and promote a positive, inclusive environment. Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and progress. Collaborate with nursing staff, social services, and therapy departments to support resident care plans. Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers when applicable. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for long-term care activity programs. Manage activity supplies and stay within budget.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in recreation therapy, social work, or related field preferred. Previous experience in long-term care, senior living, or recreational programming preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Creative, energetic, and compassionate approach to resident engagement. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Knowledge of regulatory requirements for nursing home activities programs is a plus.Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and assist residents during activities. Ability to lift or move activity supplies and equipment as needed.Work Environment:
Indoor and outdoor activities within a nursing home setting. Interaction with elderly residents, including those with cognitive impairments.Pay:
$18.00- $21.
