Job Description

Category Schools - Adaptive Physical Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an impactful role where your expertise can make a real difference for middle school students. This contract opportunity is ideal for an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher ready to deliver both direct instruction and consultative services throughout a supportive district. You'll work on a part-time basis, approximately 2-2.5 days per week during the 2026/2027 school year, traveling onsite to various middle school campuses. Collaborate closely with staff to ensure all students have access to adapted physical education experiences that promote inclusion, skill-building, and physical confidence.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Adaptive Physical Education certification or licensure (as applicable) Demonstrated experience in school settings, especially supporting students with disabilities at the middle school level Confident communicator with strong collaboration skills Proven ability to provide consultative support, working hands-on and as a professional resource Organized and efficient with time management, adaptable to a district-wide role Willingness to undergo a drug screening and pass required fingerprinting/background (CORI) check Reliable transportation necessary for multi-campus travel Timely communication, including adherence to attendance and notification policies
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct adapted PE services to a designated caseload across multiple middle school locations Offer consultative guidance to both general and special education staff Contribute to IEP and student support planning Ensure consistent documentation and communicate progress to educational teams Maintain a regular, dependable onsite presence across all assigned campuses This is your chance to inspire, advocate, and shape adaptive physical education within an engaged district community.
