N/A We're seeking a board-certified radiologist for a locum tenens inpatient role in Worcester, MA (01608). This clinical position includes both clinical duties and beeper call coverage from May 29, 2026 through August 31, 2026. What you'll be doing Cover inpatient radiology with assigned patient rounding and about 10 phone consults. Provide clinical interpretation and on-call support as needed. Facility and systems Hospital uses Cerner for the EMR. Temporary hospital privileges are available (hospital privileges not required beforehand). Procedures and skills preferred This role favors broad general radiology experience across diagnostic, interventional, musculoskeletal, neuro, and breast imaging.
Examples include:
CT (including QCT and CT angiography), MR (including MRA and neuro), and general/trauma imaging Fluoroscopy (general and barium GI studies) Diagnostic radiographs (plain films) and digital/film-screen systems Ultrasound (including breast ultrasound biopsies and endovaginal), Doppler studies Mammography/MQSA-certified procedures, stereotactic and needle/localization biopsies, breast MRI and MRI-guided biopsies Image-guided procedures: percutaneous needle biopsies, aspiration/drainage, abscess drainage, thoracentesis, paracentesis, biliary and renal interventions, PICC/vascular access, IVC filters, percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram Vascular and interventional procedures: diagnostic angiography, angioplasty, stenting (venous & arterial), thrombolysis, embolization, TIPS, therapeutic vascular interventions Pain-management procedures, joint/epidural injections, vertebroplasty, myelography, blood patch Musculoskeletal injections/arthrograms and coverage for joints (shoulder, knee, wrist, elbow, hip) Nuclear medicine basics (SPECT), cardiac function studies, thyroid scans and treatments, bone density (DEXA) Pediatric, OB, abdominal/pelvic, and other general imaging subspecialty work as needed Requirements Board certified in Radiology Licensed to practice in Massachusetts PALS certification required Fellowship training preferred If you have broad diagnostic and interventional radiology experience and are comfortable with inpatient and on-call responsibilities, this is a flexible short-term opportunity in central Massachusetts.
