Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Addiction Counselor to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive addiction counseling services to individuals and families, supporting their journey toward recovery and improved mental health. Your expertise will help clients navigate complex challenges related to substance use, behavioral health, and co-occurring disorders, fostering a safe and empowering environment for healing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those struggling with addiction while working within a collaborative and supportive setting. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations, to determine the level of care needed for addiction and mental health concerns Develop personalized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and behavioral therapy techniques Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery, relapse prevention, and behavioral health management Provide crisis intervention and crisis management support to clients experiencing acute distress or emergencies Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, including case management, family counseling, and community outreach efforts Maintain accurate medical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and compliance records in accordance with HIPAA regulations Collect data for research purposes and ensure proper coding using
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding standards for billing and documentation purposes Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field; Licensure as an addiction counselor in North Dakota required. Proven experience in behavioral health settings with expertise in addiction Strong knowledge of psychotherapeutic modalities such as motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and behavior management techniques Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and electronic health record systems Experience working in home & community care environments is highly desirable Ability to perform patient assessments accurately and deliver compassionate patient care in high-pressure situations Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients effectively during intake sessions and ongoing treatment Join us in transforming lives through dedicated clinical counseling!
