Workforce Development Director; Workforce Development Coordinators _______________________________________________________________________ Summary The adjunct safety instructor will provide hands-on and classroom style training to clients on a variety of topics. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED required A minimum of 3 years' experience working in safety as a trainer, instructor or in a position of similar duties and knowledge Certified or able to become certified to train in the following areas:
OSHA 10 & 30
Safeland USA Hazwoper H2S Medic 1st Aid CPR Ability to effectively work with staff, administration, and industry professionals. Computer proficient in the areas of Microsoft PowerPoint and Outlook (email). Ability to speak Spanish is a plus Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide instruction Provide training to attendees in the following areas: Safeland USA Basic and Core classes Forklifts, Aerial lifts, Telehandler, and Scissor Lifts Medic 1st Aid CPR Confined Space Fall Protection Fire Extinguisher
OSHA 10 & 30
Respiratory Protection H2S Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) Present other training programs as needed where qualified Maintain current training certifications Maintain training equipment Complete all paperwork and data entry for each training class Professional Development Willing to attend professional development meetings Willing to obtain job related training certifications Stay current on OSHA and ANSI regulations Professional Build relationships with the Workforce Development Coordinators team, and clients. Maintains professional attitude and appearance when representing Canadian Valley Technology Center. The employee must be dependable and consistent with regard to being on time with appointments and keeping the schedule that is given. Other Perform such other tasks and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by the administration. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to plan, organize, and teach classes. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with industry representatives and personnel in various industries. Work Schedule Primarily daytime Monday-Friday with some evenings and weekends to meet industry training needs. Ability to read and comprehend varied and extensive written documents, regulations and reference materials. Ability to meet and confer with individuals and groups concerning a variety of subjects relating to training. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, and will be handling various tools. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but could be extreme at times. Salary Based on education and/or experience per board approved salary scale.
