Adjunct Piano Accompanist

The Cline School of Music at North Greenville University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member in Piano. Primary responsibilities will be accompanying vocal and instrumental lessons and recitals and teaching secondary piano. Familiarity with keyboard-related technology applications and non-staff based musical styles may provide additional flexibility in the assignment of specific duties but is not mandatory. The ideal candidate should have piano teaching experience, strong music reading skills, and recent professional performance experience. The ideal candidate will be a confident performer who can consistently collaborate in an academic setting and has a genuine interest in helping young musicians succeed as performers and educators. North Greenville University is a teaching university of the South Carolina Baptist Convention and is a tobacco and alcohol-free campus. RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach private piano lessons Provide accompaniment for student lessons and performances Prepare for classes by organizing and becoming familiar with student material Prepare lesson plans and course material as required Effectively organize and present subject matter to students Objectively assess students for academic performance Ensure security of assessment tools and confidential documentation Effectively utilize Canvas learning management system Appropriately maintain student records, grades, and attendance to ensure accuracy Meet all university deadlines for syllabi and grade submission

Able to move between buildings and attend classes, meetings, and functions across campus.

Speaking:

Frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, professionally, and with a contextually appropriate tone and volume.

Ability to critically think and express emotions and thoughts in an honest, collegial, constructive, and prudent manner.

WORK SCHEDULE

The working hours of the University are M thru F 8:00 to 5:00, however times beyond those may be required. The schedule of the adjunct will be determined by the mutually determined teaching assignments.
