Feb 26, 2027 CONTACT Job Description Long Island University (LIU Post) is seeking applicants interested in adjunct professor positions in programs within undergraduate and graduate Nutrition Programs.
Courses may include:
Graduate Electives, Undergraduate Advanced Nutrition, Undergraduate and Graduate Food Services courses.
Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
Responsible for the instruction, supervision and evaluation of students in the classroom and/or laboratory setting. Providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules. Creating and maintaining an environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinking. Maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics. Maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter areas. Fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member. Prepare a syllabus for each course taught using the college template and post it to the class on the Blackboard site. Teach class in a professional manner, teaching the material that is present in the syllabus and course outline. Advise students relative to their academic status or performance. Appropriately maintain all necessary records for each course taught. Cultivate in oneself and others an attitude of helpfulness, personal commitment to building relationships, managing to the best solution, and user friendly always.
Education/Training Requirements:
Masters in nutrition, dietetics, dietetics and food administration or related field and certification as a registered dietitian nutritionist OR Doctoral degree in nutrition, dietetics, dietetics and food administration, public health, leadership or related field
Salary:
