Job Description

The Center for Safe and Healthy Families is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals including Psychologists, Social Workers, Pediatricians, and Nurse Practitioners who provide child-friendly, expert evaluations of children who may have been abused. The referral specialist is the first point of contact for families and professionals seeking our services. The schedule is Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and the position pays $19.00-$21.00 per hour.
DUTIES:
Help prospective clients, families, and professionals access services via telephone, email, fax, or in person. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of Spurwink's service array so that inquiries can be thoughtfully discussed and referrals supported. Respond to callers using empathy and active listening skills. Schedule appointments in a timely fashion. Provide support to medical providers. Perform other administrative duties as needed. Cover and manager front desk phones. Coordinate with the Department of Health and Human Services. Collect and organize data. Perform other administrative duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
HS diploma or GED required, some bachelor preferred. Must have effective oral and written communication skills. Must have experience with electronic databases, electronic communication, and personal computers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Electronic Health Records preferred. Must be highly adaptive, organized and able to respond to disruptions while completing essential duties. Must show initiative and good problem-solving skills.
