Job Description:
The Administrative Assistant/Victim Advocate (AA) is a part-time position that provides delivery of direct victim advocacy to persons victimized by sexual assault and child abuse and administrative assistance to Stepping Stone CAC/SAC. This is a primary service role that includes the delivery of crisis intervention support, victim accompaniment, and providing support resources, as well as scheduling and calendar coordination, event management, outreach, partner communication, file and online database management, etc. The AA's job responsibilities will be expected to be completed at both the Dublin and Eastman Stepping Stone locations.
Responsibilities:
(included but not limited to the following) Provide effective and efficient direct personal advocacy and crisis intervention services (as defined by the Victims of Crime Act), including but not limited to safety planning, in-person advocacy, accompaniment, and information referral for individuals and secondary victims affected by incidents of sexual assault. Engage in case management, client intake, case tracking, and data management support for all persons victimized by crimes of abuse and violence, including adolescent and adult victims, their families, friends, and associates. Complete follow-up contact with victims in accordance with Stepping Stone policy and timelines - that are supported by "best practices". Maintain knowledge of community resources and provide appropriate information and professional referrals (counseling, medical, legal, other) using approved and vetted Stepping Stone referral resources. Assist victims and family members in securing rights in accordance with the Georgia Crime Victims Bill of Rights so that they understand their rights within the criminal and civil justice system. Assist individuals and families in seeking remedies and in their access to services from other agencies. The AA will further perform all duties in a manner that responsibly provides for a safe and healthy environment for all involved. Participate in the communication and coordination of services as warranted by individual case needs that pertain to all services provided by Stepping Stone Child Advocacy and Sexual Assault Center. This will also include assistance with organizing and planning the monthly MDT meetings for Eastman and Dublin. Coordinate with the Executive Director or Assistant Director to effectively monitor and maintain a supply inventory, control, and requisition system as it pertains to direct victim needs that may include, but are not limited to: victim clothing, hygiene products, towels, soaps, etc. Maintain an appropriate inventory of supplies that serve victims of all ages, sizes, and abilities, and are seasonally sensitive. Complete timely collection and entry of services data, statistical data, and other documentation as required by SS policy, grant award criteria, and MDT or SART protocol agreements. Assist the Executive Director or Assistant Director in maintaining timely case management and tracking case dispositions with law enforcement. Communicate regularly with law enforcement and record appropriate information or data pertinent to individual cases or for MDT or SART review and discussion. Assist with data collection for CJCC, NCA, CACGA, and other state-required site reviews. Utilize established resources in the delivery of effective Latina/o Advocate services and other culturally competent and language-accessible services for persons with limited English proficiency in both written and verbal form, including competent utilization of the TTY machine. Provide referrals for culturally and linguistically appropriate services that reflect competent diversity assistance on all levels. Work with the Executive Director in accordance with Stepping Stone policy, and governing CJCC services "standards", to implement inclusive and appropriate intake/screening tools and resources for marginalized populations such as LGBTQI, college campuses, CSEC, Human Trafficking, elderly, disabled, and individuals with HIV. Assist victims and family members in accessing services from other agencies. Collaborate and communicate routinely with
MDT/SART
allied partner professionals as directed. Have a clear, effective working knowledge of Georgia law, federal grant conditions, and SS policy and protocols for managing confidentiality; advocate privilege; informed consent; mandatory reporting of child abuse; forensic compliance and adult victims; and the release of client/ case information and/ or communications. Assist and participate in all fundraising, community education, and awareness activities and/or professional programs as requested. Represent SS in civic, community, or related forums as requested. Demonstrate computer, clerical, administrative, and organization skills that comply with all SS policies and protocols. Maintain compliance with all data management and information technology systems and related requirements and practices. Perform with competence the utilization of all Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Gmail Suite for Business, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, Photoshop, etc. This shall also include customized case/data management systems. Comply with all SS policies pertaining to internet access and use. As with all other SS staff positions, the AA will provide all services and/ or assistance to ensure timely, efficient, and professional services to all SS clients, families, professional colleagues, allied professionals, and the public. The AA will perform all other duties as assigned that professionally represent the organization and its Mission.
