SUMMARY:
Works under general supervision and provides routine administrative support work.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs word processing, desktop publishing, presentation, and data management activities, and assists faculty and staff with the use of these applications. Composes correspondence, reports, publications, and presentations, including editing and proofreading. Creates and maintains spreadsheets and databases. Functions as the greeter and a first contact for visitors to the School of Music and is expected to be courteous, helpful and professional in interactions with guests, students, staff and faculty. Applies, interprets, and communicates policies and procedures and serves as a resource for answering questions regarding policies. Executes scheduling procedures for course schedules, convocations, student recitals, and School of Music events and online calendar. Coordinates schedules with all Divisions (including faculty and students), as well as music fraternities, sororities, and music student organizations. Coordinates with Risk Management for the School of Music and its events. Coordinates and manages the creation of Concert and Recital programs. Maintains archival copies of all programs. Posts information to agency records and modifies forms or records. Verifies, processes, and reviews forms, reports, and other documents. Manages Marketplace for course packets and equipment. Makes arrangements for meetings, appointments, conferences, and travel. Maintains office supplies and equipment and places work orders as needed. Maintains office reference materials including online office materials. May deliver, pick up, or receive cash payments, documents, supplies, equipment, or materials. May serve as a liaison for departmental equipment and service contracts, including equipment inventory. Manages lockers in the School of Music. May participate in the hiring, training, and supervision of student workers and other support staff. Assists with School of Music communication with students at the direction of the Head of the School of Music. Maintains student files. Other duties as assigned by the Head of the School of Music.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High school diploma Experience / Knowledge /
Skills:
Two (2) years of related experience in customer service, administrative duties, scheduling or event management, or a Bachelor's degree. Knowledge of Microsoft tools including word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
Ability to:
Multi-task, work cooperatively with others, and perform in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE
Experience in or a basic knowledge of Music is preferred but not required. Experience in event or concert management is preferred but not required.
