Job Description
Job Description Position/Program Information The Justice, Care and Opportunities Department (JCOD) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced leader to serve as Deputy Director, Independent Pretrial Services Agency. This unclassified (at-will) position reports to executive leadership and will lead the County's efforts to strengthen and expand pretrial services, diversion strategies, and coordinated care pathways for justice-impacted individuals throughout Los Angeles County. JCOD is Los Angeles County's central agency responsible for coordinating efforts to serve vulnerable justice and system-impacted individuals and communities. Established in 2022 following the Board of Supervisors' adoption of a "Care First" vision, JCOD advances equitable, community-based approaches to public safety and well-being. The Deputy Director will oversee the Independent Pretrial Services Agency and related initiatives focused on improving access to community-based services, reducing unnecessary incarceration, and supporting evidence-based alternatives to detention.
