8 Chicago, IL Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine as a GME Manager for our GME Administration department . The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Manager provides strategic and operational oversight of the Graduate Medical Education Office at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital in support of residency and fellowship programs. Reporting to the GME Operations Director, this position oversees daily operations, ensures compliance with institutional, state, federal, and accrediting body requirements, and serves as the primary point of contact for all Graduate Medical Education activities at the UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital site. The Manager leads process improvement initiatives, enhances the learner experience, and partners with institutional stakeholders to ensure operational excellence across the medical education continuum. This role plays a critical leadership function in advancing institutional goals while maintaining full regulatory compliance. Essential Job Functions Direct and oversee daily operations of the GME Ingalls Memorial Hospital Office to ensure timely, efficient, and compliant administrative processes. Establish and monitor workflows, internal controls, and quality assurance measures. Serve as institutional liaison to regulatory and oversight agencies including IDFPR, ECFMG, and Medicare. Provide GME oversight to Ingalls based programs and UCMC based programs rotating to Ingalls Oversee administrative onboarding and offboarding processes for residents and fellows. Ensure accurate appointment, credentialing, licensure, visa, and payroll coordination in collaboration with institutional partners. Partner with GME leadership to co-develop and implement strategic initiatives aligned with GME and institutional goals. Demonstrate independence, initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills to establish and improve procedures and systems while ensuring orderly and timely workflow of core administrative functions of the GME office. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required; Master's degree strongly preferred. Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in Graduate Medical Education required; operational leadership experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance, accreditation processes, or healthcare administration preferred. Previous experience with MedHub, New Innovations, or equivalent is preferred. Regulatory experience or working knowledge of IDFPR, ECFMG, and Medicare is preferred. Preferred Qualifications Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, reporting), Word, Access, Visio, and PowerPoint. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally. Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and independent decision-making skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to analyze administrative systems and implement process redesign initiatives. Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse academic medical center environment.
