Job Description

City of Cambridge Asst Director of Admin & Ops Cambridge, MA Apply The Assistant Director of Administration and Operations (ADAO) of the CSD will be responsible for supervising the internal operations of the Department including direct supervision of the Administrative Coordinator. The ADAO will work closely with the Director of CSD in order to ensure smooth operations for the alternative response program on a day-to-day basis. Additionally, the ADAO will work closely with the Director to ensure the seamless implementation of Department policies, strategic plans, data collection systems and daily operations of the teams across the Department. The ADAO works with the Director to set the tone in creating a work culture of compassion, learning, mutual respect and humor. The ADAO will lead by example in valuing the experiences and perspectives of all members of the team. The ideal candidate will be flexible, adaptable, eager to learn, willing to give and receive direction with comfort and ready to lead an innovative approach to public safety. Provide direct supervision to the Administrative Coordinator Support the Director in the creation and management of the department budget Ensure the implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures Ensure the implementation and monitoring of internal software systems Oversee resource and supply procurement, management, and provisioning Oversee all data collection, analysis, and reporting for the department Support the strategic planning activities of the department and programs with the primary goal of ensuring ongoing effectiveness Play a key role in developing and evaluating key performance metrics for the department Support the analysis, research and implementation of increasing the scope of CSD over time Lead or support administrative and operational projects and other improvement efforts Promote, model and lead change in establishing an anti-racism, anti-oppression culture and undertake efforts to promote a safe and inclusive environment for LGBTQIA+ and other identities. Support the ongoing development and implementation of a comprehensive training program for staff Support all talent acquisition, talent management, onboarding, and offboarding processes Create and maintain strong working relationships with other Community Safety Departments across the country Ensure coordination with various consultants providing assistance to the CSD Other duties as needed Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Education/Experience/License/Certification Master\'s degree in Business, Public Policy, Public Health, or related field Five (5) years of experience in managing social service programs, behavioral health services or crisis management services in a supervisory capacity. Experience managing budgets, strategic plans, data analysis plans and program evaluation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong communication skills, including presentation and negotiation. Understanding of community mental health services, psychiatric rehabilitation, and violence prevention concepts Sensitivity to multicultural populations and their experiences and perspectives. Knowledge of principles of community safety and experience coordinating resources and services into the community to achieve department and program goals. Must be CPR and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment.
