Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a Parish Administrator for St. Paul's, a welcoming and growing Episcopal Church in Walla Walla. The Parish Administrator provides administrative support for parish life, including preparing for weekly worship, coordinating our communications, quarterly scheduling of volunteers, basic expense tracking and invoice processing, managing building scheduling and access, and day-to-day office operations. This is a 20-hour per week part-time position, and the parish is willing to offer significant flexible scheduling and/or partial remote-work options for qualified applicants; some time in the office will be required each week. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, excellent organizational skills, and a positive attitude to support the church's mission and ministry and foster a welcoming environment for all who they may interact with. Responsibilities Work with the Rector and Director of Music to prepare the weekly worship bulletin and seasonal worship booklet. Schedule parish volunteers in worship every quarter. Manage essential office operations including filing, record keeping, and processing of invoices for payment. Oversee vendor relationships, including contracts for maintenance, supplies, and services essential to parish functions. Handle scheduling for facility use to optimize space utilization and event planning, and oversee building access for parishioners and outside groups. Maintain effective communication channels through multi-line phone systems, front desk management, and email correspondence to serve parishioners efficiently. Requirements Prior experience in office management or administrative roles within a church or non-profit office setting is highly preferred. Experience with software to support basic desktop publishing (Adobe InDesign or advanced Microsoft Word skills), scheduling management (Microsoft Outlook / Office 365), mass e-mail communications (Constant Contact), and basic contact database management. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, calendar management, and record keeping. Proficiency in handling multi-line phone systems, front desk duties, and managing busy office environments. Exceptional communication skills coupled with professional phone and in-person etiquette to interact positively with parishioners and the public alike. Affection for or dedication to the parish's religious mission is required
