Full Job Description Job Summary:
Responsible for the execution of MPPC's business, administrative, and human resources functions. This role provides oversight of financial management, HR management, facilities, risk management, database administration, and office/ administrative support. The DCBA ensures essential operational services and controls are in place to support the church in carrying out its mission effectively, efficiently, and responsibly. Works closely with the Senior Pastor, Director of Daily Operations, and Program Directors to coordinate the work and ministry of MPPC.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Financial Management - Accountable for the oversight and management of the finance functions of MPPC, Hope House, and the Learning Center in coordination with the Bookkeeper(s) and
Finance Committee:
o Work closely with the Finance Committee and volunteer Treasurer to coordinate the request for financial reports from the bookkeeper; serve as MPPC's staff liaison to Finance Committee. o Day-to-day accounting and general ledger activities. o Oversight of all banking functions, banking relationships and the ongoing maintenance of these relationships; management and knowledge of Church and LC's Bookkeepers banking practices. o The conducting of periodic audits of the church's books and records as called for in church policies. o Work in partnership with the Finance Committee in preparation of the annual church budget including periodic reporting on budget/expenditure performance. o Receive and record Pledge commitments weekly during the annual pledge campaign drive and provide reports on Pledge commitments as needed by the Stewardship Committee, Finance Committee, and Pastor/Head of Staff. o For other Major or Capital Campaigns, record pledges, gifts, and provide reports as requested by that committee or the Finance Committee. o Reconcile all bank and other financial statements monthly, tied to applicable balance sheets, and maintain reconciled statement files to include balance sheet o Prepare monthly reports • Human Resources Management -- Responsible for overseeing the church's HR systems, policies, and practices in coordination with the
Senior Pastor/Head of Staff and Personnel Committee:
Administer HR policies, procedures, and compliance with federal and state employment regulations. Oversee the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluation processes, and offboarding. Maintain accurate personnel files and HR records in accordance with confidentiality and legal standards. Coordinate employee benefits administration, including insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and open enrollment periods. Manage payroll review in collaboration with bookkeeper or outsourced provider. Provide guidance and support to supervisors and staff regarding HR best practices, conflict resolution, and workplace issues. Serve as staff liaison to the Personnel Committee alongside Senior Pastor/Head of Staff. Support staff development initiatives, training, and professional development opportunities. Ensure workplace culture aligns with MPPC's mission, PC(USA) values, and a servant-leader management model. •
Office/Administrative Support:
o Responsible for the approval of office expenditures in excess of maximum specified in office policies and procedures manual. o Work in partnership with Director of Daily Operations and outsourced technology consultant to ensure the integrity and functionality of the church computer system, including backup processes and data security. o Serve as the Database Administrator for the MPPC church management database (currently, Realm). This includes knowledge of the database management system, best practices within the database, and the ability to implement best practices consistent with MPPC's operations. o Responsible for coordinating the general office staff in areas of shared responsibility. o Responsible for the church reception area including its functions and personnel.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Knowledgeable in areas of finances, general insurance liability, and Human Resources; familiarity with P & L Statement and Balance Sheet. Ability to lead in these areas reflecting best practices for churches and non-profits. Proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word, MAC and knowledge of QuickBooks is helpful. Ability to learn new technologies, including Realm or other database management software necessary for efficient management MPPC data. Must have excellent organizational skills to delegate and manage tasks. Ability to supervise and manage utilizing a servant leader management model. Strong research skills and commitment to best practices. Ability to communicate with MPPC leadership and staff clearly and effectively. Strong interpersonal and people skills; work effectively as a team member. Adhere to strict confidentiality. Ability to work within Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) polity and faith. Must be committed to MPPC's mission and message.
Education and Experience:
Degree in finance, business administration, or human resources. Minimum 5 years' experience in a managerial or supervisory role within an organization.

Work Environment and Schedule:
Requires working in MPPC Administrative office. Monday- Friday, typical business hours with some evenings and weekends as dictated by job duties.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
