DeBakey Department of Surgery is seeking a Business Operations Associate to support the day to day business operations of the Department by performing and implementing financial, accounting, human resources, and division related duties. This position will have the opportunity to engage with division faculty and staff on special projects to further the goals of the Department's clinical mission. This position will be provide the Department with decision support on matters related to purchasing, reimbursements and travel (Concur), call schedules, clinical productivity reporting, Epic reporting, and monthly reconciliations. The position will also be expected to organize and communicate monthly financial reports at the division, service line, and faculty levels. Job Duties Performs and oversees the daily operation of a department or unit, primarily in the areas of financial management. Establishes staffing plans, schedules and productivity guidelines according to budget availability and department/unit needs. Ensures the ongoing review and development of process improvements to maximize business productivity. Reviews and approves all statements of accounts, payroll, human resources, and invoice actions. May develop, manage, and control budgets and a variety of financial data. Establish financial and operational systems to monitor, control, and verify expenditures and carry out financial analyses. May assist with or manage pre-award and/or post award related tasks in support of department faculty members. May assist with or manage special projects. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree. Two years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience using SAP.
