Office Assistant Supervisor I :
$22.07•$26.83 Hourly/$1,765.60•$2,146.40
Biweekly Office Assistant Supervisor II:
$23.19•$28.19 Hourly/$1,855.20•$2,255.20 Biweekly Bilingual Incentive! Bilingual incentive pay is +7.5% above the Office Assistant Supervisor I or II rate .

What You Will Do:
The primary function of an Office Assistant Supervisor is to perform first-line supervisory responsibilities including planning, assigning, and evaluating the work of staff and is responsible for a functional area within the department. The Office Assistant Supervisor will exercise good judgment when organizing, directing, prioritizing, and supervising unit activities.
As An Office Assistant Supervisor You Will Have The Opportunity To:
Plan, assign, supervise, and review the work of support staff to ensure quality, completion, and compliance with department standards. Identify training needs, conduct training and provide leadership and coaching for staff. Independently establish a course of action to accomplish work objectives and adapt to meeting changing priorities. Promote cooperative professional working relations among staff, resolve conflicts, and monitor work environment; provides employees with guidance and prepares performance evaluations. Develop or revise policies, procedures, and templates to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
Bilingual Candidates:
Translates, interprets and otherwise communicates with members of the Spanish speaking community.
Controversial Issues:
As an Office Assistant Supervisor you may be required to take actions that conflict with your own values regarding client services, and agency operations. The Office Assistant Supervisor may encounter customers who are emotionally charged; customers that have substance dependence, mental health, trauma or domestic violence history. Office Assistant Supervisor II Minimum Qualifications:
Office Assistant Supervisor I•One (1) year of full-time experience performing advanced journey level or lead-worker clerical duties in an office environment. Office Assistant Supervisor II•One (1) year of full-time experience performing full first-line supervisory clerical duties in an office environment. In addition to the education and experience requirements specified in the Merit Systems/Cooperative Personnel Services classification specification, Tehama County requires: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12 th ) grade.
Bilingual Candidates:
Must pass a Merit Systems Services written and/or oral bilingual proficiency test or other appropriate test selected by the County) to qualify.
License & Special Requirements:
Requires a valid California driver's license•. •Some positions in this classification may require possession of a valid California driver's license. Employees who drive on County business to carry out job-related duties must possess a valid California driver's license for the class of vehicle driven and meet automobile insurability requirements of the County. Eligibility for employment for those who do not meet this requirement due to disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the appointing authority. The department is currently recruiting for one (1) anticipated vacancy . In addition, Tehama County is establishing an eligibility list to fill future vacancies for an Office Assistant Supervisor I or II or an Office Assistant Supervisor I or II•Bilingual, as well as subsequent vacancies, which occur during the life of the eligibility list. Interviews are tentatively scheduled for late February 2026. New employees should anticipate being hired at the beginning step of the salary range. Candidates who exceed entry level qualifications may be considered, with approval from the Board of Supervisors, for placement at other than A step.
