•San Diego, CA La Jolla Cosmetic Dentistry & Orthodontics is a well-established, highly respected cosmetic dental practice in the La Jolla/UTC area. We are looking for an experienced, professional, and detail-oriented Dental Insurance & Administrative Coordinator to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who has strong dental insurance knowledge but also understands the full scope of dental office administration . Dr. Kohani is looking for someone who can take ownership of insurance responsibilities while also being able to step in and support other areas of the front office when a team member is out. We are a busy, high-end practice that takes pride in providing exceptional patient care and maintaining a professional, welcoming environment. The right candidate will be confident, organized, dependable, and comfortable wearing multiple hats. Responsibilities Insurance & Billing Verify dental insurance benefits and eligibility Obtain and document accurate benefit breakdowns Understand dental insurance plans, limitations, exclusions, waiting periods, deductibles, and frequency limitations Prepare and submit dental insurance claims Follow up on outstanding and unpaid claims Review EOBs and reconcile insurance payments Post insurance payments, adjustments, and patient payments accurately Handle insurance-related patient questions and explain benefits clearly Assist with insurance estimates and treatment plan presentations Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable Front Office & Administrative Support Schedule and coordinate patient appointments Confirm appointments and manage patient communication Check patients in and out Collect patient payments and balances Assist with treatment plan coordination and financial arrangements Maintain accurate patient records Help manage daily front-office operations Step into other administrative responsibilities when team members are absent Work collaboratively with doctors, hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff Provide an exceptional patient experience from check-in through checkout What We Are Looking For 3+ years of dental office administrative experience preferred Strong dental insurance and billing knowledge Experience with dental claims, EOBs, insurance verification, and A/R Understanding of CDT codes and dental terminology Experience with treatment plans and patient financial discussions Comfortable handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Professional communication and customer service skills Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently Team-oriented attitude and willingness to help wherever needed Ability to remain calm and professional when handling challenging patient or insurance situations Experience with Eaglesoft is a plus The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is more than just an insurance coordinator .
