The Aspen Community School is a public charter school in Woody Creek, Colorado serving 135 students. Position Summary:
The Administrative Coordinator provides essential support to the educational process and school operations through exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building. This position is part-time for the 2026-2027 school year. Administrative Coordinator Responsibilities and Dispositions , listed but not limited to: Serves as the primary point of contact at the school entrance, maintaining a calm, orderly, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Coordinates a variety of school functions including attendance and academic records, updates and collects school forms, directs the annual school lottery, accounting for school fees and other payments, and purchasing materials and supplies. Acts as a gatekeeper, maintaining the integrity of the systems that foster student learning, teacher professionalism, and completeness. Communicates important school information to parents both verbally and in writing. Administers first aid and prescription medications to students, under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Screens phone calls, e-mails and visitors by providing information, transmitting messages, directing inquiries, and providing direction to appropriate personnel. Supports and assists with emergency preparedness procedures, protocols, and drills for the safety of the school. Engage parents in the education of their children. Maintains confidentiality and discretion as appropriate. Supports the school principal. Possesses a strong desire to be a part of a high functioning, positive, and energetic team and community.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Clear communication skills (verbal and written) Proficient computer skills and in operating office equipment Bookkeeping skills Knowledge of school policies, school district charter agreement, and state requirements Ability to shift between tasks without alarm, juggling frequent interruptions Able to meet deadlines List is not comprehensive- duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or new ones may be assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
Two years clerical experience, preferably in a school setting
Current CPR/First Aid Certification Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to talk, walk, stand and hear. Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, grasp, and perform light lifting. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in an indoor climate-controlled environment, with occasional outdoor duties involving brief exposure to seasonal weather and extreme temperatures. Exposure to moderate and sometimes loud noise. This is a highly public position that includes contact with students, staff, Administrators, COMPASS Board of Directors, and parents.
