Administrative Coordinator Staff First Office PT 24 hrs/wk Nights Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Inc. - 3.6 Baltimore, MD Job Details Part-time $39.80 - $66.26 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications RN License Bachelor's degree Bachelor's degree in nursing Full Job Description Under general supervision, facilitates patient placement, during admission and transfer, through the triage function. Meets with physicians and their office staff to market services with medical community. Serves as a clinical and administrative resource. Resolves problems as they arise during the evening and night shifts as well as day shift on weekends and holidays.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience required. Medical/surgical nursing experience with critical care, emergency room or triage experience preferred. One (1) year of leadership experience (Charge RN, CUC or management) preferred.Licensure/Certification:
Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Registered Nurse.ACLS Certification Skills:
Interpersonal skills Analytical skills to interpret and enforce policies and procedures, and to identify and initiate appropriate corrective action to resolve problems. Knowledge of current bed statues within the Medical Clinical Service Group.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises hospital activities in the absence of administrative personnel. Staffing Gather information from various sources regarding staffing needs of units and establish need priorities. Resource ASAP to fill units' unmet needs. Update ShiftWizard to reflect changes made to need requirements. Supervise staffing coordinators in resourcing temporary staff. Adjusts and floats nursing staff as necessary. Collaborates with Unit Secretaries and Nurses. Managers/Charge RNs to have optimal staffing throughout the hospital. Bed Management Review initial service assignment for fit - if necessary discuss with physician. Make request to unit. Make bed assignments as determined by level of care and service. Bed placement/triage patients to appropriate unit. Responsible for direct admissions, coordinates with Oncology department to collect appropriate information. Patient Flow Coordination Gather data, conduct analysis and provide input on patient flow systems problems and solutions. Direct activities of Resource Nurse. Authorizes red alert, and facilitates patient flow issues to improve critical care capacity. Trouble shooting unresolved issues concerning equipment, dietary, housekeeping and transport, and lab during off hours (evenings, nights and weekends). Coordination Activities Rapid response quality check Stroke Alert quality check Code Pink quality check Behavioral Health Response Team (BHRT) quality check Code Blue quality check Emergency response (flood, snow, etc.) Additional Responsibilities Evenings, Nights, and Weekends Employee relations issues. Disciplinary activity, as needed. Substance abuse and testing. Patient complaints/conflict resolution. Resource to staff for policies and procedures. Assist with BBP exposures protocols to staff. Physical Requirements Ability to walk and stand approximately 80% of work time. Working Conditions May be exposed to communicable disease and hazardous chemicals.
