Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (VT) and may require flexibility to act as support and/or serve both locations, depending on needs./b/ppbThe Medical Staff Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the medical staff office and credentialing functions for two affiliated critical access hospitals. This position ensures compliance with hospital bylaws, regulatory requirements (CMS, Joint Commission, etc.), and professional standards. The Coordinator serves as a liaison between the medical staff, administration, and governing bodies of both hospitals, ensuring consistent and efficient operations./b /ppb
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
/b/ppbCredentialing & Privileging/b/pulliManage initial and reappointment processes for all medical staff and allied health professionals./liliVerify credentials, education, licensure, board certifications, and work history in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards./liliMaintain accurate, confidential credentialing databases. /liliCoordinate with department chairs and medical executive committees on privileging decisions./li/ulpbMedical Staff Administration/b/pulliSchedule and coordinate Medical Staff, Department, and Committee meetings across both hospitals./liliPrepare and distribute agendas, minutes, and follow-up documents./liliAssist in the development and maintenance of medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations./liliServe as resource for medical staff regarding bylaws, hospital policies, and credentialing./li/ulpbCompliance & Accreditation/b/pulliEnsure compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation and state regulations regarding medical staff processes./liliPrepare documentation for regulatory surveys and audits./liliMaintain records for peer review, focused/proctoring reviews, and OPPE/FPPE./li/ulpbCommunication & Coordination/b/pulliAct as primary liaison between the medical staff, hospital leadership, and boards of trustees at local site and between affiliate and system sites./liliFacilitate communication between the two hospital systems to ensure alignment of credentialing and governance standards./liliAssist in integrating contracted, telehealth, and locum providers as needed across both hospitals./li/ulpbOther Duties/b/pulliPayor enrollment
  • Support payor enrollment, ensuring continuity and communication to ensure successful readiness to start./liliProvider onboarding
  • Coordinate and communicate provider start dates, and onboarding, working with Medical Directors, Senior Leaders, and medical staff./liliMedical Student and Learners
  • Coordinate and communicate medical student rotations, working with human resources, department leaders, and medical student academic centers.
