Job Description

Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction At The Deron School, we are committed to empowering students with special needs to reach their fullest potential in independence, life skills, and academic achievement. Through individualized, evidence-based practices rooted in applied behavior analysis, and a collaborative approach that includes speech-language therapy, occupational and physical therapy, and counseling services, we provide comprehensive support to meet each student's unique needs. (Montclair Campus) seeks an experienced Full time Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction. Statement of Position The Supervisor shall be responsible for all professional and non-professional staff as well as the coordination of programs to ensure the provision of optimum special education services. The Supervisor must maintain a safe and healthy school environment that is conducive to learning. At the present time this may also involve oversight of an established cross-campus collaboration with other administrators, and maintaining regular contact with staff, families, and sending districts. Qualifications Valid New Jersey Administrator Certificate with Supervisor Endorsement Minimum of 3 years of successful supervisory experience Knowledge and experience in Special Education Evidence of vigorous leadership qualities Excellent communication skills Ability to connect with and successfully involving a diverse school community Valuing and integrating the arts as core components of the academic experience Promoting collaboration with faculty, staff, parents, and community to achieve goals Establishing a positive school culture that engages students and staff to grow and excel Curriculum Development and Revision Working knowledge of Google Suite for Education Experience in best practices for preparing for a successful IEP meeting. Knowledgeable in assisting staff in writing meaningful IEP Goals and Objectives. Knowledgeable in assisting staff in writing meaningful Progress Reports.
