] ROLE of the
POSITION
Reporting to the Associate Director of the Disability Resource Center the Administrative Coordinator is responsible for coordinating complex administrative, operational, and service-delivery functions that support equitable access for students with disabilities at UNLV. This role integrates accommodation coordination, student worker logistics, office operations, budgeting, and assistive technology support to ensure continuous, high-quality Disability Resource Center services. The position requires strong organizational judgment, regulatory awareness, and the ability to manage multiple interdependent workflows This position will collaborate with the Student Wellness Administrative Coordinator to facilitate hiring of student workers and temporary employees. The administrative coordinator will ensure compliance with NSHE and UNLV policies and procedures as well as compliance with FERPA and The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards regarding student and staff focused policies and procedures. The DRC Administrative Coordinator directly manages the Disability Resource Center's furniture placement and classroom relocation responsibilities in order to meet the needs of students with varying disabilities. Lastly, this position assists both the director and associate director with the compilation, organization, editing, and production of the annual reports, annual evaluations, grant reports, research projects, presentations, and other tasks. The Administrative Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact for internal and external constituents on matters pertaining to The Disability Resource Center operations, initiatives, and programs/services. They will directly coordinate with students, parents, faculty, staff, university leaders, Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) staff and other community partners. The Administrative Coordinator is expected to manage highly confidential and sensitive information with the utmost care and must possess significant knowledge of and experience with state and federal laws, some of which include FERPA, ADA, and 504. In addition, they must maintain a professional and respectful demeanor with the understanding they are a highly visible representative of The Disability Resource Center and UNLV. They must also possess basic skills and knowledge related to de-escalation and assisting students who may present as feeling stressed or overwhelmed. The Administrative Coordinator must have the ability to effectively communicate; to solve complex and often time sensitive problems; to effectively organize, plan, prepare, coordinate, implement and follow through on multifaceted assignments in a timely manner; work must be accurate and completed with minimal oversight; and possess strong interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and respect for diversity. DEPARTMENT
The Disability Resource Center (DRC) facilitates equal access to educational programs and campus activities through the provision of reasonable and effective accommodations to all UNLV students with documented disabilities. Our office currently serves over 2,700 UNLV students with disabilities. We are committed to supporting students with disabilities at UNLV through the appropriate use of systems advocacy, accommodations, and supportive services to ensure access to campus courses, services, and activities. The DRC strives to provide supportive and effective accommodations to students with documented disabilities based on current best practices as well as federal laws and regulations. Through these efforts, the DRC strives to ensure student access to educational opportunities, enhance their potential for academic success, and support the Top Tier Initiative. The DRC provides high-quality, professional coaching, case management, training, and intervention to assist students in using DRC accommodations and University resources effectively. Through these interactions, the DRC collaborates across campus to be a key part of a superb student educational experience and remove disability-related barriers allowing students greater access to scholarship, creative activity, and research. In summary, the DRC aspires to the following goals: Support disability inclusive diversity across the University Provide effective accommodations for students with documented disabilities Serve as a campus clearinghouse for information relevant to students experiencing various disabilities Support faculty, staff, and departments in the understanding and implementation of accommodations in a manner appropriate to the unique needs of each student and academic discipline. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will be required to have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), the ability to work occasional evening hours, and a minimum of one-year work experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date. UNLV may consider additional relevant experience in place of formal education requirements: In lieu of a bachelor's degree, applicants may qualify with four additional years of relevant experience, or with an associate's degree plus two additional years of relevant experience. For positions requiring a master's degree, acceptable equivalents include: Six additional years of relevant experience A bachelor's degree plus two additional years of relevant experience An associate degree plus four additional years of relevant experience
