Finance & Operations Director Employment Type:
Part-Time, 28 hours/week (7-hour shifts)
Compensation Range:
$21.00 - $24.00 hourly Position Summary The Administrative Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory by providing strong administrative support and communication across the organization. This role serves as a central hub for internal coordination and external communication, helping ensure that staff, members and partners receive timely information and that internal systems run smoothly. In alignment with SNCO's mission: to foster curiosity and create educational experiences that inspire a deeper connection to space and the natural world, this position enables the team to focus on mission-driven work by maintaining clear systems, organized information, and responsive communication. Key Responsibilities Administrative Coordination & Office Support (45%) Coordinate shared organizational calendars, including meetings, committees, and campus space usage. Prepare for meetings (scheduling, materials, basic set-up). Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems (OneDrive, shared docs, etc.). Oversee basic office operations including supplies, mail distribution, and shared spaces. Proactively respond to and fulfill a variety of administrative needs. Daily errands including post office, bank and as other locations as needed. Help foster an organized, positive, and collaborative workplace environment. Communications & Customer Service (35%) Serve as the first point of contact for inquiries via the main phone line, voicemail, and email inbox. Respond to or route inquiries in a timely, friendly, and professional manner. Coordinate campus reservations and scheduling for rental groups and serve as point of contact. Maintain accurate public-facing information (hours, basic website updates, listings). Support Development team with donor, member and other supporter communication. Data & Systems Support (15%) Responsible for data entry and basic maintenance in donor database and QuickBooks. Support simple reporting needs (attendance, basic tracking, financial reports etc.). Event & Program Support (5%) Assist with event registration, guest lists, and basic coordination. Provide occasional support for event setup or logistics as needed. Qualifications Significant experience in administrative, office coordination, or similar roles. Strong organizational skills, reliability, attention to detail, follow-through and ownership of tasks. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal). Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities. Comfortable learning new tools (e.g., CRM systems such as Neon One). A calm, steady presence. A person that can focus in loud, busy environments. Friendly, approachable, and service-oriented. Must possess an Oregon Drivers License and vehicle for occasional errands. Ability to work positively with a diverse range of demographics. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Desk-based computer work. Frequent physical tasks on and off campus with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
