Job Description

The City of Uhland is seeking a motivated, organized, and customer-service-oriented professional to serve as the Administrative & Utility Coordinator. This position plays a vital role in the daily operations of City Hall and serves as one of the primary points of contact for residents, businesses, contractors, and community stakeholders. The Administrative & Utility Coordinator performs a broad range of administrative, customer service, utility billing, financial processing, and records management functions in support of City operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, technologically proficient, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced municipal environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to grow professionally within a rapidly developing community located just outside the Austin metropolitan area while benefiting from a full-time four-day work week. About Uhland The City of Uhland is a rapidly growing community located approximately 25 minutes south of Austin in Hays and Caldwell Counties. Uhland is a Type A General Law municipality committed to providing responsive public service, responsible growth management, and a high quality of life for residents and businesses. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Serve as a primary front-line representative for City Hall by greeting residents and visitors professionally and courteously. Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls and emails. Process utility billing payments, permits, and other City-related transactions accurately and efficiently. Maintain and update utility account records, customer profiles, and service requests. Prepare service notices, delinquency notices, and utility disconnect documentation. Balance cash drawers, reconcile receipts, and assist with daily financial reporting and deposits. Assist with records management, document filing, scanning, and retention procedures. Support City Hall operations including meeting preparation, administrative coordination, and general office support. Respond to resident questions and assist in resolving customer service concerns. Coordinate with other City departments to ensure efficient communication and workflow. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information. Perform additional duties as assigned by the City Administrator. Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum one (1) year of administrative, customer service, utility billing, clerical, or related experience. Strong customer service and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PDF software. Ability to perform basic financial and mathematical calculations accurately. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Valid Texas Driver s License required. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in municipal government or another public-sector environment. Experience with utility billing systems, accounting software, or municipal software platforms Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills. Experience handling cash, receivables, or financial reconciliations. Associate degree or college coursework in business administration, public administration, accounting, or a related field. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a public-facing environment. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a growing organization.
